GREAT hanger. You can elect to mount to a single study by securing two screws centrally (all screws provided) or secure with two additional screws along the periphery. Took me probably longer to find the study than to install it. As you can see, it readily handles my Werner 6' ladder, but it is curved so you can hang other things as well.

Great ladder hangers
I searched Home Depot and Lowes for ladder hangers for my 10 foot step and 20 foot extension ladders. I needed them to be strong, wide, and attachable to a vertical wall stud. This one i found on Amazon was the only one I found that met all of these requirements. Easy to install with just two provided screws.
